Hi I’m Sally-Anne, based on Waiheke Island/Auckland
My husband, Steve, and I created Real Entertainment back in 1990 to provide quality, professional musicians for functions. Now, almost 25 years on, both my daughters are professional musicians too and Real Entertainment is a flourishing family run business.
Although we live on Waiheke since 2000, where we enjoy summers packed with glorious weddings, we have kept Real Entertainment as a national business with representatives in Wellington and Christchurch.
When I am not gigging I am travelling throughout New Zealand teaching children and teachers to play the cello using the Suzuki Method. Back in Auckland I run my own private studio as well as a Skype cello lesson studio from home on Waiheke Island.
Anna-Marie is a graduate on cello from the New Zealand School of Music, and is our coordinator for Wellington.
Anna-Marie graduated with a Bachelor of Music and a Post Graduate Diploma in 2013 and since then has completed a tour of Europe participating in various masterclasses specialising in Performance and Early Childhood Education.
When she isn’t working for Real Entertainment she teaches children young and old to play the cello. She has recently launched a new business called The Little Cello Box which is New Zealand’s first mobile teaching studio!
Jessica began playing for Real Entertainment in 2005 and has recently returned to us after a four year stint in Europe while she completed her studies. In 2014 she completed a Master of Arts in Performance violin at the Hochschule der Künste in Bern, Switzerland.
During her time in Bern Jessica worked with several professional ensembles including the prestigious Bern Symphony Orchestra. Jessica currently works as a casual violinist in the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and is enjoying getting back into chamber music and performing with Real Entertainment on beautiful Waiheke Island.
One of our most popular ensembles is the Classical Jazz Trio which jumps from traditional Classical to Jazz with ease!
Originally from Sydney, Mark’s first gig in New Zealand was playing sax with DD Smash at the Queen Street Riot in December 1984. Since then, Mark has worked as a musician, writer and conductor in New Zealand and around the world with the best in the business including Dave Dobbyn, Goldenhorse, Hayley Westenra, Helen Medlyn, Hollie Smith, Jackie Clarke, James Morrison, Jennifer Ward-Leyland, Jimmy Barnes, Joan Rivers, John Farnham (2 world tours), Kuala Lumpur City Orchestra, Manhattan Transfer, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Neil Finn, Ray Columbus, Rima te Wiata, Rolf Harris, Sir Howard Morrison, Skunk Baxter, Stacey Daniels, Starjam, Starlight Symphony, Sting and the list goes on!
- “Imagine an ensemble of professional musicians playing discreetly in the background as guests arrive… the atmosphere is set for a very memorable occasion.”
