Brief History

Real Entertainment specializes in providing versatile, quality musicians with the right attitude for weddings, corporate events, private parties and other celebrations, festivals, shows, backing bands and just about anything.

Real Entertainment was founded in 1990 by Sally-Anne Brown, herself a leading New Zealand cellist, and has become well-known at many popular venues throughout New Zealand.

More recently Real Entertainment has found its home-base on beautiful Waiheke Island. With the ever increasing demand for entertainment at weddings on Waiheke Island so has Real Entertainment become increasingly in demand for providing their high standard of professional musicians and expertise.

Much to Real Entertainment’s credit, musicians have been engaged to:
- Back such famous entertainers as Ray Charles, Shirley Bassey, Dionne Warwick and AMICI.
- Perform in the professional orchestras of Les Miserables, Cats, West Side Story, The Secret Garden and Christmas-in-the-Park.
- Perform for television commercials e.g. Starlight Symphony, Mainland Cheese, Freya, Anchor Milk etc.
- Travel overseas to play for the King of Tonga’s 80th birthday.
- Perform for the CD’s of Golden Horse, Bic Runge, Kantuta, Dave Dobbyn, Hayley Westenra.
